The Good Life

The Good Life

Based on the TV Series by
John Esmonde & Bob Larbey
Stage Adaptation by Jeremy Sams
Directed by Paul Lewis

ON SALE 1st JULY

When Tom and Barbara Good decide to exchange the pressures of the rat race for an alternative, more sustainable way of living, they set about turning their suburban home in Surbiton into a model of self-sufficiency.

They grow their own fruit and veg, keep livestock in the garden, make their own clothes, and even generate their own electricity from manure. It’s the good life for them – but not for Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, who live next door, and are desperately trying to maintain the Surbiton status quo.

Jeremy Sams’ stage play, based on the hugely popular sitcom by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, reunites the well loved characters (not forgetting Geraldine the goat) as they get themselves into and out of scrapes – some old, some new, all hilarious.

Tapping into issues that resonate now more than ever, The Good Life is a witty reimagining of a television classic, with a wellyful of laughs that’s sure to delight audiences everywhere.

The Hollow

The Hollow

Written By Agatha Christie
Directed by Jon Manley

ON SALE 1st JULY

A MASTERFUL WHODUNNIT

An unhappy game of romantic follow-the leader explodes into murder one weekend at The Hollow, home of Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell, arguably Christie’s finest comic grande dame. Dr Cristow, the Harley Street lothario, is at the centre of the trouble when, assembled in one place, we find his dull but devoted wife, Gerda, his mistress and prominent sculptor, Henrietta, and his former lover and Hollywood film star, Veronica.

Also visiting are Edward and Midge, whose romantic assertions are likewise thrown into the mix. As the list of romantic associations grows so does the list of potential suspects when Cristow is shot dead. Nearly everyone has a motive, but only one of them did the deed.

This amateur production of The Hollow is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Blood Brothers (Play)

Blood Brothers (Play)

Written by Willy Russell
Directed by Sarah O’Connor

ON SALE 1st JULY

A DRAMA

The original and non-musical play version of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers, later turned into one of the most iconic and successful musicals of all time, tells the tale of twin brothers and what happens when their mother decides to have one of them adopted. Their contrasting upbringing and the hand fate deals them is fast-moving, perceptive and ultimately tragic.

Containing the song “Marilyn Monroe” and with a different ending to the musical version, this stripped back telling of the much-loved story is full of surprises, joyous and uplifting, but deeply heart rending, as it hurtles towards its tragic end.

This amateur production of Blood Brothers (Play Version) is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Underdog: The Other Other Bronte

Underdog: The Other Other Bronte

By Sarah Gordon
Directed by Al Dunn

ON SALE 1st JULY

A FUNNY & QUICK-WITTED DRAMA

We all know about the Brontë sisters, don’t we? But how much do we actually know? We know about elder sister Charlotte’s success with Jane Eyre, but what about the other one? No, not Emily, although Wuthering Heights was a roaring success. We’re talking about the other other Brontë… Anne.

This is a gripping, stark, gritty, often controversial (but more often funny) tale of sisterhood, jealousy, encouragement, teamwork, togetherness, individualism, frustration, determination and well…love.

Three women making the most of their isolation to ensure their future; battling tradition, form and mysogynistic attitudes along the way.

AGE AND CONTENT GUIDANCE: Suitable for ages 14+. Contains adult language.
