A GHOSTLY COMEDY
Blithe Spirit is perhaps Noël Coward’s most beloved and celebrated comedy. Mixing the best elements of farce, quick wit and style, it focuses on the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites an eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to his house for a seance. Hoping to gather material for his next book, his plan backfires when the ghost of his first wife Elvira appears, much to the displeasure of his new wife, Ruth.
Audience members may recall the famous film version starring Rex Harrison and Margaret Rutherford or more recently the West End production featuring Jennifer Saunders. Come join us for an evening of supernatural pleasure and be transported by one of the 20th Century’s funniest and most important plays.
This amateur production of Blithe Spirit is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.
